The guide

Wrocław's Michelin list

Wrocław entered the MICHELIN Guide for the first time in 2025 — the strongest debut of any Polish city, with 22 restaurants recognised straight away, rising to 29 in 2026. I've now eaten at all three Bib Gourmands and the Star. Here's how they actually stack up.

Whose opinion is whose. The distinctions and the inspectors' descriptions come from the MICHELIN Guide. The star ratings are mine, from meals I paid for myself, and they don't always agree with the Guide — see Craft, which the Guide doesn't list and which I'd still send you to for the cooking alone.

Bib Gourmand · 2026

All three, eaten and rated

The Bib Gourmand is the distinction worth caring about as a visitor: excellent food at moderate prices, usually in rooms that don't ask you to dress up. Wrocław has three, and they're genuinely different from one another.

IDA Kuchnia i Wino

Polish bistro · Łazienna 4

★★★★★5 / 5 · reviewed

A small, secret oasis with an open kitchen and a sommelier who reads the table. Mushroom pierogi and duck breast plated with precision that never costs them flavour. The Guide calls it a love letter to Polish flavours in a pared-back bistro format — that's about right.

TARASOWA

Seasonal · Wystawowa 1

★★★★★5 / 5 · reviewed

The terrace faces the multimedia fountain at Centennial Hall, and the kitchen is good enough that it doesn't coast on the view. Southern and central European cooking held in careful balance, with service that treats you like a guest of honour and a bill that doesn't.

Pijalni

Wine bar & bistro · Michała Wrocławczyka 42

★★★★4 / 5 · reviewed

New for 2026, and the most relaxed of the three. Chef Tomasz Wencek cooks in a rustic-chic room of exposed brick; the draw is local charcuterie, home-baked bread and staff who'll let you taste several bottles before you commit. The Guide's line is flavour over fuss, and that's exactly it.

The Śniechowska connection

The most interesting story on this list is one chef with two restaurants — and I've now eaten at both.

BABA

Modern Polish · Nożownicza 1D

★★★★★5 / 5 · reviewed

A Bib Gourmand in 2025, promoted to a full MICHELIN Star in 2026 — one of Wrocław's first. Beata Śniechowska turns the classic Polish repertoire on its head: a clear, dashi-inflected barszcz with enormous depth, inventive herring, and cocktails at speakeasy level. The Guide flags her "Petit Bonbon" pierogi.

Młoda Polska

Bistro & pianino · Plac Solny

★★★★★5 / 5 · reviewed

Same chef, and it shows — but in a completely different register. Where BABA deconstructs, Młoda Polska comforts: schabowy fried in lard, asparagus under glossy hollandaise, piano under the room. Śniechowska won MICHELIN's 2025 Service Award for hospitality as thoughtful as the food, which is precisely what you feel here.

The rest of the list

Recommended means the Guide's inspectors rate the place, but it doesn't carry a Bib or a Star. It's a broad, useful list — Korean grills, Portuguese seafood, tapas, tasting menus and prewar Wrocław recipes brought up to date.
